Saying Good-bye is never easy...

Perry Emuel Myers 8/27/1948 - 8/8/2011

Perry Emuel Myers Jr. 62, was reunited with his parents and his son on Aug. 8, 2011. Born Aug. 27, 1948 to Perry Emuel Myers and Shirley Jean Rolfe Myers. Perry was a wild spirit who always enjoyed life. Some of his favorite things were spending time with his daughter and his many friends. He loved to sing Elvis songs and ride harleys in the wind. He is survived by his daughter Christy Jo Myers, three brothers Roger, Russell, Rodney and two sisters Debbie and Loralee and many others who loved him dearly.

This is my Uncle Perry - and we will be saying good-bye to him tomorrow 8/27/11. It is so un real that he is gone- I will miss him calling and chatting my "young" self up on the phone. My dads brothers all remind me of my dad in many ways - but my Uncle Perry reminded me of my grandpa Tug more than any of the brothers, in some ways it was as if I was looking at and listening to my grandpa when he called or we would see him. Perry lived his life the way that he wanted to and he died a happy man surrounded by his family. I will miss him more than I can express - but know that he is happy to be with his parents and his son on the other side. May you forever rest in peace Uncle Perry - and may you party hard up above.

The Big 37- Happy Birthday to me!!

So it's my birthday tomorrow - the BIG 37- the people that I work with had a big lunch for me today - Im sure that my desk will be decorateed tomorrow and I guess that it's ok- it's always a good time where I work - and what better than 2 whole days of celebrations?

I have been thinking alot about where I am in life - and where I have been - and I will have to say that these days by far out measure the ones in the past. I love where I am in my life.. I love my job(yes, it's true) I have a great family that I am lucky enough to see all the time, I have great friends of whom I am fortunate to call them my friends, I learn from them and strive to be more like them.

I am most fortunate to have the love of my life... my son, Kaleb. I may be getting older but he makes me feel younger everyday - he makes me laugh every single day. I love watching him grow and do new things. He is amazing and I cant wait to see him grow older - these things are what I measure my success and my happiness by.

I would not go back in time to do anything over - I may not enjoy my birthdays but I dont want to go back to before I was 37- I just really dont think Im ready to be soo close to 40- but we will save that for another year...

Love this girl...

This is my friend Shaua's daughter McKinnley. I love this girl.. she is ALL girl(most of the time) we have taken to each other like milk and cookies!!
The other night Shauna and I were talking and the kids were all running around, dogs barking, kids screaming.. it was a mad house to say the least.. Shauna looks over at me and says.. Someone take me away - Im cheap, free to a good home. Then I said to her - why not just get a HUGE box and put all the kids in it - write on the front "Free to a good home" (like you see when people are trying to give away animals in front of stores).. I said and if we dont have any takers - we can change the sign to say Free to ANY home... man we laughed so hard over that - in fact we still do...
Anywho... the other night we were at Shauna's house and Kinney said to me.. I have a good idea Monica.. I said - you do? She said yes.. I think that we should put you in a box and put "Free wife - to a good home" - oh man.. she thought she was a genious- and all I could do was laugh my keister off at the thought...
Then I very nicely explained to her that I don't want to be married- I rather like my life as it is... she was so sad that I didn't immediatley take to her idea.
Man I love this little girl- the things that we think of and the conversations we have.. they arent ones I can have with my son that's for sure.

Feather Extensions???

So I have been seeing many, many girls and women with feathers in their hair - kinda reminds me of when I was a little girl and feather hair clips were all the rage... but I have been thinking more and more about them...

I think that they are unique looking.. and the vast aray of different colors amazes me...and honestly I have been thinking of getting a teal one.. or maybe a pink one.. or white.. not sure of the color yet.. but I am considering it... maybe...

Finally!! I'm back :)

Its been too long since I have had constant access to a computer that would allow me to blog! So glad to be back. I couldnt believe how long it had been since I had posted.. really 2009?? Geez!
I'm just glad to be back.. now I have to try to remember how to change the colors and fonts and add things.. ugh!
I can do it! :)

Snow!!!!!

So I finally have access to a computer.. thought I would take advantage and update my blog!!!! I have missed blogging like no other...
It is snowing here.. I woke up at 7:30 am and it was snowing.. and hasnt stopped!!!! Woo-Hoo!! I love the snow...

I have too much to catch up on right now, but will once I can get more time.

2009-2010 School Year has started

About 3 weeks before school started I told Kaleb that I was so excited for school to start, he told me that I was plum crazy for wanting that.. he doesnt quite get that its not because he will be back in school, its because that means that the cooler weather will soon be here.. and if anyone really knows me at all they know that winter is my all time favorite time of the year.. but it also means that its almost time for HOCKEY!!! I cant wait for that to finally start!!! USU has the best hockey team and its great to be able to go and chear them all on.

Happy Birthday to me!!!

Well it finally happened, I turned 35 last Sunday!!! :(

It was a hard birthday for me, but it was fun. My mom decided to throw the kids a back to school party at the pool so that is what we did on my birthday! It was a lot of fun for everyone.

I dont have alot of time today to post, I am on my way to dinner at Joe's Crab Shack to treat myself for my birthday.. I figure that I deserve it.. so we drove to West Jordan to go to dinner. YUMMO!! I cant wait!!

Well I am off to dinner.. hopefully I can get online later and maybe post some pix from the night.

Relay for Life!

Hello everyone!! I was finally able to find a computer to update my blog!!!I was just saying today how much I missed being on this thing! Im going to have to make it a point to get to the library to update this thing more often. Anyways..... I want to share about what I did tonight.

I participated in the Relay for Life... this year was bitter sweet having just lost Grandpa Elliott in October 08 due to complication of Lung Cancer. I walked for him tonight and thought of all the fun times we had. The 4th of July weekend just passed and that was the same weekend as the Cruise in. We would all go up in the canyon to camp. This year, grandma asked if we wanted some chips and salsa....then proceeded to open a jar of salsa.. which was so totally ok... it just wasnt the same as fresh that gpa made to snack on. I sure miss him.

I also walked for my grandpa Myers who died in 1997 from stomach cancer. I miss him so much. I look at my dad and see my grandpa in him and some of the things he does reminds me of grandpa "Tug" so much that its like he is right there. I am going to have to get some pink mints this weekend... just to remind me of grandpa.

I walked for my dear sister in law for her battle that she fought...and thus far has won. She is CANCER FREE now for almost 3 years!!!! Yay!~~ It was so awesome to see her, my brother and their 3 daughters all there. Walking with the care takers and the Survivors.

I also walked for my Dr Patty Jones PA. Who I just found out is battling her cancer again after finding it in her bones. I look at that woman and see someone who is so upbeat, especially after all that she has been through, and I think to myself... my life? Its great.

If you have never participated in a Relay for Life event, I strongly recommend that you do it... its an amazing experience. I am posting some of the pix I took tonight.
